ARİF SAMİ TOKER
Arif Sami Toker was born on April 4, 1926, in Gelibolu (Gallipoli). He studied music at the Istanbul Municipal Conservatory. In 1950, he began as an amateur vocalist at Istanbul Radio, and later took on the posts of Director of Musical Broadcasts at Izmir Radio, Director of Musical Broadcasts at Ankara Radio, and Director of Music at Istanbul Radio. As a child, his beautiful voice drew attention, and he studied with masters such as Saadettin Kaynak and Kemal Batanay. Later he entered the Üsküdar Musical Society. He composed hundreds of works. His style is unique among his contemporaries. He died on April 27, 1997.
