NUBAR EFENDİ

(1895 – 1954)

A professional kanun player and composer of songs, Nubar Efendi was born in Istanbul, and died in Aleppo. His first instrument was the harmonica; he took his first kanun and music theory lessons from Âmâ Ali. In 1920, he settled in Baghdad.
