YAŞAR GÜVENİR

Yasar Güvenir, born in 1929 in Istanbul, was a graduate of Ankara University, Department of Languages, History and Geograpahy. He began his career in music in 1952 as a composer. In 1962, he came in fourth at the "Composition" branch of the Cannes Music Festival. He won the admiration of his public with his slow pieces he sang and played on the piano.
