Yeni Türkü was founded in 1979 by Derya Köroglu, Selim Atakan, Yasar Miraç and Zerrin Atakan, and performed folk music with a new approach. Their first album, "Bugdayin Türküsü," released in 1979, brought a breath of fresh air to the music scene of the time. Their song "Telli Telli" is one of the groups most popular songs.
